How do I find RIA practices to acquire near me?
Module 6 (Practice Acquisition Mastery) includes the Firm Finder, which lists 23,927 SEC-registered and exempt reporting advisers. You filter by state, AUM and succession score, and the list is ranked by a proxy succession score, not a prediction. Counts of the seven signal types Synseus defines are available by area at /api/public/succession-signals; five of the seven are currently evaluated for these firms.
What is my RIA practice worth?
Synseus's calculator values a practice under up to five methods. The revenue and EBITDA multiples and the discount rate are the ones you set in Settings, and a method whose figure you have not set shows Not set; the other methods carry constants the tool states on screen. Nothing is benchmarked against a transaction cohort: this product holds no transaction data. Available at /api/public/practice-valuation.
How do I build an RIA that's valuable enough to sell?
Module 10 (Scaling & Enterprise Mastery) includes an Enterprise Value Tracker that models how every strategic decision — hiring, technology, niche focus, minimum account increase, service model change — affects your practice's sale multiple. The Value Driver Framework identifies the 5 highest-leverage value drivers for your specific practice profile and builds a sequenced improvement plan.
What succession signals indicate an RIA is ready to sell?
Synseus defines 7 succession signals, none of which guarantees a sale: a solo filer with long registration (no more than one employee on Form ADV and a tenure-based score above 50), long tenure (first registered before 1995), retirement proximity (a tenure-based score above 60), solo practice (no more than one employee on Form ADV), AUM in the transition range ($5M to $50M), a registration gap (last Form ADV renewal more than two years ago), and multi-state licensing (registered in three or more states). Five of the seven are currently evaluated for SEC-filed firms.
